Sudhir Chaudhary (journalist)

Mr. Sudhir Chaudhary serves as Editor-in-Chief of Zee News, Zee Business & WION at Zee Media Corporation Limited (a/k/a, Zee News Limited) and served as its Channel Head – Zee News at and served as its Chief Editor of Zee News and its Business Head and Editor – Zee News since July 2012 and also Editor – Zee News. Mr. Chaudhary served as the Chief Executive Officer and Editor of Broadcast Initiatives Ltd. He served as Chief Executive Officer and Editor of Live India and Mi Marathi. He had joined Live India (then Janmat TV) in March 2007. He has close to two decades of experience in the news business. He also has worked with Sahara Samay and India TV.

Early life and education

Sudhir Chaudhary obtained his bachelor of arts from Delhi University and later received his diploma in journalism from Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.

Career

Sudhir Chaudhary has been working in the television news industry since the 1990s. He joined Zee Media in 1993 when it had just been started, and covered several prominent stories including the Kargil War and the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. He was a part of the media that covered the meeting at Islamabad between Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Pervez Musharraf after the terrorist attack.

In 2003, he left Zee News. He was instrumental in the launch of Sahara Samay, the Hindi news channel of the Sahara group.He also joined India TV for a brief time. Next he joined Live India as editor-in-chief. In 2012 he rejoined Zee News, where he hosts the news show Daily News & Analysis (DNA).

Awards

Sudhir Chaudhary won a Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism in the “Hindi broadcast” category for 2013. He won the award for his interview with the friend of the Delhi December 16 gang-rape victim.
