Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM), Bangalore

Bangalore-based the Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media (IIJNM) was established in 2001 by the BS&G Foundation. BS&G Foundations is a non-profit educational trust. The BS&G Foundation was started as collaboration between the Adi Chunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Trust and The George Foundation. The former also runs several other educational institutions in medicine and engineering, while the latter is engaged in humanitarian projects and environmental issues.

Courses Offered

Developed in association with Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, New York, programs offered by the IIJNM cover all areas of mass media which include print, television, radio and online/multimedia journalism.

  • One-year Postgraduate Diploma: A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required. Applicants awaiting final year examination results or who will be graduating this year may also apply.
  • One-year Diploma program: Students who have completed or awaiting results for 10+2 / pre-university are eligible to apply. Prior knowledge of computer applications is not a requirement.

Limited numbers of seats for various programmes are available on a first-come basis. Indian as well as internationals students can apply for the courses. Shortlisted candidates have to undergo an on-line aptitude test. Qualified candidates are called for personal interview at IIJNM campus in Bangalore at a notified date.
