‘Yatharth’-Departmental fest of Journaslim, Maharaja Agrasen College, DU

The Department of Journalism, Maharaja Agrasen College is organizing its Media Fest YATHARTH on 24th February 2018.

This was the latest version of Yatharth, the media fest, carrying forward the legacy which started back in 2012. YATHARTH’17 was one of a kind intellectual cum entertainment event and will showcase the best that academic institutions like ours could offer. It  provided a platform to the young students across various J-schools & institutions for the expression of their creativity and innate talent by participating in various events. YATHARTH’18 was a confluence of such young, bright spirits at the same platform, enabling them to showcase their potential and learning in front of a huge and euphoric audience and thus serve as a boost for those who are willing to nurture different skills of representing themselves.

Ms. Sakal Bhatt , news reader of DD News and currently is anchor of Republic TV was invited as Chief Guest to inaugurate the event.After inaugurating the event, Sajal Bhatt said, “In today’s age, the girls need to be as bold as the boys. It’s really heartening to see the energy and confidence in the girls here. It’s always a delight interacting with young minds.”

The day-long event saw a seven competitions being held where students from different DU colleges participated. Following is the list of competitive events in the proposed media festival YATHARTH’17:

  • Think twice
  • Just a minute
  • Uncover the story
  • 30 Words of Wonder

The event ended with the valedictory session and the Honourable Chief Guest said good luck to all the students and gave tips for becoming a successful journalist and concluded with” The key mantra for becoming a Journalist is to keep learning and learning and learning.” At the end the Principal Sunil Sondhi gave vote of thanks to the Chief Guest and one and all presented in the event.
